Red Hill Australian White Stud

“When Quality Matters”

Describing themselves as the quiet achievers in the Australian White breed, Robert and Leanne Endacott commenced their journey with the Australian White in 2011, founding Red Hill Australian White Stud. Robert and Leanne have both come from a strong, passionate background in sheep and goat production, growing super fine wool, successfully breeding and exporting Boer goats to China and operating their White Dorper stud along with their commercial, self-replacing flock of White Dorper ewes.

Excited about the prospect of being part of a new, dynamic, Australian sheep breed, Robert and Leanne purchased recipient ewes, implanted with Australian white embryo’s in 2011 and from there commenced consecutive embryo programs over four years, leading to increased stock numbers and to date the Endacott’s boast a substantial flock of quality breeding ewes, stud sires and commercial rams.

The infusion of Australian White Rams into Robert and Leanne’s White Dorper, self-replacing commercial enterprise saw an immediate improvement in progeny, enabling them to repeatedly turn off fresh sucker lambs at 4-5 months in steep rugged country on the Burrendong Dam Foreshores.

Three consecutive years of drought have proved the Australian White breed to be an excellent resilient, non -selective sheep that can browse and convert feed well, while maintaining good body weight and producing lambs that are healthy and robust.

The Breed

This unique breed, a haired meat sheep consisting of four breeds, the Poll Dorset, White Dorper, Van Rooy and Texel has continually proved themselves as a hardy, resilient breed that meets Australian market requirements and is well suited to varying Australian conditions. Red Hill is committed to breeding Australian Whites that will consistently produce excellent, marketable lambs with exceptional growth rates and early maturity.

Striving for a soft, easy doing sheep with excellent carcass shape, good temperament and a no fuss, no nonsense animal that will meet the expectations of large commercial producers, stud breeders or those wanting to enjoy the benefits of a life style block, Robert and Leanne are confident that their Australian Whites will not disappoint.

Red Hill have seen a strong continual improvement in their breeding stud and commercial stock and with careful, rigorous selection of quality stud stock from Tattykeel and Ardess Australian White Sheep studs, Oberon NSW along with their own quality stud sires, the Endacott’s are reaping the benefits of very strong sales and interest in the Australian White. Stock agents and processors are extremely impressed by the Australian White which have been in high demand and this has been indicative of record-breaking prices in recent times for trade and export lambs, breeding ewes and rams.

Red Hill look forward to providing their clients in New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, Victoria and more recently New Zealand with top quality, true to type Australian White Rams and Ewes and to continue their passionate journey with this impressive sheep breed.
